Freed Classic pointe shoes are unique in having a small stamp on the sole under the size indicating the individual who made it. The following list gives current makers and the characteristics of their shoes. Many dancers are not particular about the maker so we can then normally supply immediately from stock but if you need a specific maker and/or variations then it will need to be made. If your maker is no longer available or you wish to try a alternative then use this list as a guide. Please bear in mind that makers with the same characteristics can still vary from one another so be prepared to experiment a little to find the perfect shoe.
Please note that if your existing maker is not listed or does not have any characteristics then they are likely to be a new maker yet to develop a style or may have retired. Contact us if you are unsure or require info on a maker not listed. Freed Studios are by nature identical so they do not have a maker stamp and cannot be ordered with any variations.
Making Times:The factory is currently quoting from 3 to 9 months for new orders to clear production. This will be confirmed at the time of order and the customer given the option to continue or cancel should the timescale be longer than expected. Timescales can at times be extended should a maker be ill or have a heavy workload.
Restricted Makers: At present, the following makers are on the restricted list due to their existing work schedule: A, Anchor, Bell, Butterfly, Castle, Club, Crown, D, L, Maltese Cross, T and V. Please contact us for more information should you be considering an order so we can check the latest information.
